Well, it took a while, but I finally got the results from the DreamWeaver test I took and I passed! I’m certified in DreamWeaver now. This is pretty exciting. I think I should be getting my certificate in the mail this week.

So I started this authentication system for a new project I’m working on. I’ve got all the code down. Now it’s time to debug. It’s not even really that bad. It shouldn’t take me too long. I’ve fixed a few things already and I’m almost done. When I finish that up I can actually start creating the site.

I’ve decided to try PHP. I’m creating an application to display genealogy information on your website. I’ve got the basic format down, finally, after buying “The PHP5 and MySQL Bible“. There is defiantly a lot of information in there. I should have this app done by tomorrow afternoon or Sunday, hopefully no later than that.

While installing Gallery2, after getting Apache installed on windows, I found that I needed to create a directory that was writable by apache so it could store my image files. I eventually found an article. It wasn’t about Gallery2, but it was close enough.

Basically you have to:

1. go to a user’s “Local Settings” folder (ex. “C:Documents and SettingsDefault UserLocal Settings”).
2. Create a “web” folder
3. Create your writable folder (ex. “C:Documents and SettingsDefault UserLocal Settingswebwritable”
4. Add the folder to the end of your apache configuration file (ex. php_value session.save_path “C:Documents and SettingsDefault UserLocal Settingswebwritable”)

That’s it. That’s all I had to do.
