I need a new twitter plugin. Not that I don’t like the one that I have right now, it’s great — when Twitter isn’t down. Try loading my site when Twitter goes down. It gets all hung up looking for Twitter, I almost want to pull the widget down just so page performance doesn’t suffer.

I need a plugin that looks to see if Twitter is online first. Or already knows if Twitter is online via a database somewhere. Or it just gives up if it can’t find Twitter in about a second. Right now the page loads fine when Twitter is going good, but as soon as Twitter goes down it takes forever to load.
